Nursery Uniform

We have introduced our staff and Children’s NEW uniform for children between 3-5 years. We have created a smaller logo to go onto the t-shirts for the staff and children and the clown will still remain on the bags and coats. I hope the children will enjoy having their uniform and will be pleased to wear it. If you do want your child to wear a uniform and they are under 3, the V-Neck tops will be £12.00 and a T-shirt will be £9.00.

Nursery Grants and Tax Schemes

When your child/children reach the term of their 3rd Birthday we can start claiming funding for them. The reason for this is that they attend a private day nursery and do not attend a state school for the 3 hrs-funded educations. We can therefore claim this directly from the government. We apply automatically on your behalf and the funding which we receive, is taken into account when invoicing you for your monthly fees; we therefore amend your monthly fees and only charge you for the additional hours of care that is provided for you. We will inform you as and when this situation becomes applicable to your child/children.
There is also another benefit available to you providing your particular employer is part of the scheme. It is commonly referred to as the “voucher” scheme. As a working parent you are entitled to apply for £243.00 a month to be deducted from your wages and are paid directly to us from your employer. The result of this is that you do not pay Income Tax or National Insurance on that sum of money each month. This therefore allows you to be slightly better off. You then only pay the balance outstanding of fees due. This scheme is well worth joining and you should contact your employer to ask if they take part in the scheme. If you would like any of the above information in more detail or account numbers for the vouchers systems we have already in place, then please do not hesitate in contacting Hilda or myself.

Staffing

We now have 2 students working at the nursery, who are doing their childcare qualification.  Their names are Angie and Natalie. Angie does Tuesday and Wednesdays and Natalie does Tuesdays.

Best Friends Future Developments

The planning for “web-cam” access availability has been hindered by several matters, however since this has become under my sole control I’ve been able to resolve the mater, the last piece of the puzzle security issues to which I decided to move away from the company I was previously thinking in favour of and appointing a company to administer the service. I have been working with “Nursery-Cam” for many months and we are now in the process of this being installed over the Christmas closure. I understand the delay must have been frustrating equally for the parents, staff and the site management team. Hopefully there is now closure in sight to this with the system going live as quickly as the company policies and updates that cover the use of this equipment have been signed and returned by all.
At this time I’m also upgrading a few things to assist in communication within the nursery C.C.T.V. system. We will have additions adjustments made, upgrading the monitors with additional viewing facilities for the benefit of the nursery team.

Best Friends Childcare Centre’s future aim is to be interactive with parents and involve them with the day’s activities by providing you with a “virtual childcare centre”, internet service and e-mail interaction. This will be managed and protected by encrypted codes for individual parents and centre management. This will enable you to view allotted activities throughout the day and have e-mail communication showing your child/children at work and at play.
